Report - The Pinnacle, Canberra Nature Park (25 October 1998)

Even though clocks had been put forward one hour overnight, a dozen people were on deck by 8 am for this outing. As we strolled along, it was remarked that with the combination of spectacular views, 72 hectares of pleasant nature park to explore and a lovely sunny morning, it didn't really matter if there weren't many birds. By 11.30 am, however, we had managed to record 36 species, including Red-rumped Parrot, Sacred Kingfisher, Dollarbird, White-throated Gerygone, Varied Sitella, Leaden Flycatcher, White-winged Chough (a newcomer to The Pinnacle) and a pair of Brown Goshawks, in the vicinity of their nest and being harrassed by an Australian Magpie.
