Detail - Australian Bird Study Association (ABSA) weekend (Sat 4 - Sun 5 March 2000)

On Saturday 4 March the venue will be CSIRO, Clunies Ross Street, Prospect, N.S.W. The theme is 'The Contribution of Amateurs to Avian Research'. The meeting will run from 9.30 am to 5 pm with an informal barbecue to follow the AGM. A cost of $20 will cover the registration, morning and afternoon tea, as well as lunch. The barbecue costs an additional $5. The speakers and topics include:

Scientific Day, on Sunday 5 March, will be day of field outings, involving birdwatching and research activities such as censussing, behavioural observations and banding. To date there are two confirmed study sites, Scheyville and Castlereagh nature reserves. ABSA would like to extend an invitation to all those interested in birds to come and participate in this fantastic weekend. Not only will it give you an opportunity to hear about a wide range of current and interesting projects; it will provide an ideal venue for socially interacting with other bird lovers from many different organisations.
