Report - Black Mountain Peninsula (Wed 16 May 2001)

Five members enjoyed a pleasant stroll around the peninsula on a sunny but windy day. Thirty species were recorded in spite of the wind. A Darter drying out on a prominent perch over the lake kept us focussed for a while, but the highlight was a solitary Peaceful Dove, looking very small against a Rock Dove nearby.

Thanks are due (overdue) to the Outings Committee for their continuing preparation of lists of good birding spots for these Wednesday outings, and to the Gang-gang team for never failing to include the destination in the Newsletter.
