The autumn movement of thousands of Yellow-faced and White-naped Honeyeaters (and lesser numbers of other species) from the mountains to warmer climes along the coast and further north is a feature of the Canberra birdwatching calendar. One of the best places to observe the migration is from a location near Angle Crossing where the honeyeaters funnel across the Murrumbidgee River in a narrow band. We will be counting the birds, so bring something to sit on, a hat, sunscreen and morning tea. Meet Nicki Taws (6251 1879) at 8:30am at Tharwa, in the first car park on the left immediately after crossing the bridge.
