Mark Clayton will be leading this walk on Mulloon Creek, which is a private property off the Kings Highway approximately 10 km on the coast side of Bungendore. The area straddles the top of the Great Dividing Range and is thick sclerophyll forest with some interesting patches of gum and some more open areas used for grazing. A mix of birds associated with these habitats may be expected, including some returning summer migrants. Mark has a well-deserved reputation of being able to find, see and hear birds when no one else can. Accompanying him should be a real experience for members - if its there Mark will find it!
Meet Mark (6241 3620 A/H) at 8.00 am opposite the primary school in the street NORTH of the Kings Hwy (this is the street those arriving in Bungendore from north Canberra via Macs Reef Road etc first come to and for those travelling via Queanbeyan, it is the first right AFTER the Kings Hwy turn to coast). If you cross the railway tracks you are just a little too far past the meeting point. We will car pool as parking on site is limited. The return to Bungendore is expected by lunchtime. If there is reasonable rainfall overnight the outing will be called off.
