The intention of this outing was to repeat the very successful viewing last year of the Glossy Black-Cockatoo as these come down to drink at the dams near Mackenzie St, Hackett. However, the birds have not been seen here for some months, and while still present, they seem to have moved to a less accessible spot to the NE of the reserve. The reliability of observing them there and feasibility of moving the outing to this spot is still being investigated. Should this not prove viable an alternative outing will need to be held. If you have any proposals of where else to go for a mid winter trip (Sunday would also be acceptable) please contact Jack Holland (6288 7840 AH or by E-mail on jack.holland@deh.gov.au).
